Samantha Rodgers

She graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA having achieved the highest academic achievement of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society.

She was commissioned in the US Army and graduated from the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center Ophthalmology Residency in 2011. She has spent the last 17 years in the US Army and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel (P) at Ft Sam Houston. Her time in the US Army not only allows her to serve our nation's finest with state-of-the-art comprehensive, refractive, and trauma ophthalmology care, she serves as core faculty for the military's only Level 1 Trauma Center Ophthalmology Residency. She enjoys teaching residents and has successfully taught more than 100 residents how to manage and care for ophthalmic patients and how to perform ophthalmic surgery. She continues in the military practicing Ophthalmology, teaching Resident Physicians and serving as the Army Ophthalmology Consultant to The Office of The Surgeon General, US Army.

​​​​​​​She lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Keith, and five children, ranging in ages from 7-18. She enjoys long trips driving around San Antonio serving as an Uber driver to her children, who are terrible tippers. In her spare time she likes to bake, cook, test out new restaurants, and sleep. Her family attends Cross Mountain Church in San Antonio and feels absolutely blessed that God has placed her and her family in this beautiful city to live, grow, and serve.
